As we all know, the COVID 19 has affected all kinds of industries, even the fashion industry. Especially with the high number of cases around Europe in the beginning of the year, fashion shows were held back and creative directors were forced to find an alternative to showcase their designs. This mid year’s fashion shows are mostly done online, with the power of creative digital marketing, creative directors of famous designer brands were able to deliver online fashion shows that were not less interesting than the usual fashion show. Celebrities and fashion VIPs are no longer needed to dress for a party after the show, because all of it is done through online. Unlike traditional fashion shows that are exclusive and limited to a number of people or VIPs, now people around the world can directly enjoy fashion shows and participate through online, even you can find inspiration for dress for a party by live- streaming to these shows.
Below are Lavergne’s favorite online fashion shows;
1. Gucci Epilogue
During Milan’s digital fashion week, Gucci said goodbye to fashion as we once knew it with a resort 2021 collection titled “Epilogue.” Creative director Alessandro Michele, in tune with the changing landscape, said he recognized that fashion is supposed to be open for everyone. With this in mind, the brand’s final cruise show featured members of the design team — rather than models — wearing the eccentric, maximalist collection. It was an intimate, 12 hour livestream, available for the audience to enjoy and take a look inside of Gucci, and the behind the scenes. Rather than showcasing dress for party worn by models, this eccentric new way of expression showcases the real meaning of fashion.
2. Jacquemus Fall 2020 Ready-to-wear
Simon Porte Jacquemus is known for his romantic yet experiential fashion shows, it is proven by his previous seasons, where he showcased his designs within fields of lavender. The combination of nature and fashion show has made Jacquemus famous for its fashion shows, and people are loving it. The Jacquemus SS21 “L’Amour” Runway Show exceeded our expectations. It is filled with dress for a party that can inspire you to be more elegant, but also natural. Even though other designers are moving towards digital fashion shows without guest or invitations, Jacquemus still invited and flew an audience of guests to Vexin National Park, however with social distancing rules. The guests were spaced apart from each other during the presentation and wore mask.
